If Your Selling Your Home Consider Upgrading
Your Bathroom
Everyone knows
that bathrooms and kitchens sell homes, so if
you are putting your house on the market
consider some of these bathroom upgrades.
If you are planning on selling your home,
then consider installing some of the following
ten upgrades to help in the sale of your home.
- One of the simplest and most inexpensive
things you can do to your bathroom and any
room of your home is to repaint. Adding a
fresh coat of paint makes any room more
attractive.
- Adding or upgrading to a “Big Mirror.”
Large mirrors offer a lager view and make a
small bathroom look bigger than what it
truly is by making the room look brighter
and more spacious. A 4’x5’ polished edge
mirror usually cost approximately $160. You
can find excellent quality mirrors on line
or through the yellow pages.
- Install a towel warmer. You can make
even the most modest of bathrooms feel more
luxurious by adding a towel warmer. Usually
a small towel warmer uses the same amount of
energy as a 100wt. Light bulb. However,
large towel warmers can increase the
temperature of an average size bathroom. All
have on/off switchers and a few models even
have timers. The price of a towel warmer
will average about $40 to upwards of $300
depending on style and size. You can find a
wide selection of towel warmers on the
Internet.
- Install recessed medicine cabinets.
Space is a big selling point to any home.
For as little as $30 dollars, you can add
more space to any bathroom.
- Believe it or not but one of the latest
trends is having a dimmer switch in the
bathroom. You can alter the light when
applying makeup, shaving, or when you just
want to set the mood. The average dimmer
switch runs about $8 to $25.
- Install new faucets and hardware. By
installing up-to-date, new facets, light
fixtures, towel bars, and or cabinet
hardware and even a quieter bathroom fan
does make a huge impact on a bathroom.
- More lighting is always a big plus. You
may want to consider installing sky lighting
especially if your bathroom is an inner room
with no windows. However, if your bathroom
is on an outside wall, then adding a window
could do the trick.
The follow upgrades are more expensive
and are consider major upgrades.
- Heated ceramic bathroom floors.
- Wheelchair and walker accessible showers
and step in tubs.
- Whirlpool and “Air-Jet” tubs.
Bathroom remodeling adds value to your home
and by adding a few simple upgrades, your home
becomes more attractive to buyers. This can be
especially helpful in today’s housing market.
